Wonderful dolls by Yulia Sochilina
Yulia Sochilina is a Russian artist and art doll master. She has many awards, the diploma “For the contribution to national culture”, medals of the Artists Union of Russia.
The master began to create dolls as a child. First she was fond of drawing paper dolls, and then made them of painted clay. Yulia graduated from the Abramtsevo Artistic and Industrial School (today College) named after Viktor Vasnetsov. Soon Sochilina understood that the creation of art dolls is just what she needed and really interested in.
Her dolls are mysterious, beautiful, and incredible. They are full of romantic femininity, tenderness, smooth lines, and remind us of Meissen porcelain. The dolls are made of wood – natural, warm and grateful material.
Her dolls are beauties from different eras in the luxurious historical costumes. Their clothes are sewn from expensive fabrics with antique lace.
The artist says she draws inspiration and ideas literally from everywhere: movies, books, art.
In 2005 Yulia took part in the exhibition Doll Extravaganza and won the prize in the category My Fair Lady.
In 2007 she got the prize Golden Section at the III International Doll Salon in Moscow. In 2008 she won “The artist creates masterpieces” award at the IV International Doll Salon in Moscow.
