Very strange place – Pokaini forest

There is a strong anomalous zone in Latvia, near Riga – Pokaini forest. Riga researcher Ivar Wicks explored this area. He believed that the legendary Holy Grail is not a treasure, but the flow of cosmic energy spills into the bowl of Pokaini forest. He told reporters about the mysterious properties of the stones which are in the forest and meteorological anomalies in 1996. And shortly thereafter, the researcher died of an unknown disease. Latvian scientist – physicist Eugene Sidorov continued exploration of the strange place.
Many tourists, attracted by the rumors about the healing power of this place, make a pilgrimage to Pokaini forest.

It is a really very mysterious place. Oaks are very similar to pines and for some reason their leaves grow only on one side.
But the stones are the most interesting! How did these boulders appear in the forest? The legend says that pilgrims from all over Europe, brought the stones with them and left in the forest as a symbol of liberation from sins.
Stones on Zikkurat hill are in strict order. It seems they served as a compass for ancient people. Although some historians argue that the stones were removed from the fields and brought there by peasants. Others say that stones were needed for the construction of the castle, which had never been built. But there is no evidence for this.
People are very willing to believe in the mystical version. They say the stones have healing properties and treat different diseases. However, there are “bad” ones which contain negative energy. Some tourists took some stones home, but very soon regretted about it. Some time later they became victims of accidents and mysterious illnesses.
Pokaini forest was considered an unusual place since ancient times. According to the legend thirty Druids who controlled the weather came there. People say there is always good weather in the forest. Even if it’s raining or snowing nearby, the sun is shining over it.
There is the Valley of Spirits which is “inhabited” by balls of light. They are invisible to the naked eye, but appear in photos.
There is another phenomenon. Standing on top of the hills located at a great distance from each other, people are free to talk even in a whisper.
Some say that there is a gateway to a parallel world, and the average person can get supernatural powers. While others believe that the forest is a black spot, which is better stay away from.
Various devises, watches and compasses don’t work properly in the territory of the forest. But the radiation dose is within normal limits there.
Scientists say it’s because of magnetic ore deposits. Or maybe the reasons are underground gas emissions and seismic activity?
Who knows, maybe one day this mysterious place will open its secrets.
